Most gutter installations take our team about half a day and a full day for larger installs.

If you live in the Lower Mainland or the Metro Vancouver area, gutters or eavestrough systems will last approximately 20-25 years. But with regular maintenance and care, they can last much longer.

Even with regular scheduled maintenance, gutters will start to break down and become less-efficient over time.

If your home is starting to show signs of age, be on the lookout for any of the following:

  • Holes, leaks or signs of corrosion in gutters and downpipes
  • Waterfalls or areas overflowing with rainwater
  • Gutters that are sagging or falling apart in places
  • Pools of water gathering in the gutters
  • Pools of water near the foundation of the home
  • You see or hear critters or rodents crawling around the roof
  • An unusual amount of birds flocking or nesting
  • If you see any water damage in the basement, walls or foundation

You may need some repairs, new gutters, or just a thorough cleaning. A gutter expert can provide a free estimate and help you figure out the best option.

We install 5-inch, K-style seamless aluminum gutters – also known as continuous gutters. They are light-weight, rust-resistant, durable, yet still cost-effective.

There’s a variety of colours to match your home – black, white, brown, beige and grey. Most of our clients choose black or white.

We have a machine that creates the seamless gutters on-site, so that every house has a perfect fit.

The main benefit to installing seamless gutters vs. sectional gutters is that there are less chances for leaks.

Seamless or continuous gutters differ from sectional gutters because they don’t have a seam. Sectional gutters are held together with seams and because of this, have more fail-points.

Some people believe that a seamless gutter system gives homes a more modern and appealing look.

We install 5-inch, K-style seamless/continuous aluminum gutters, which are both cost-effective and long-lasting.

In a nutshell: Clean gutters help protect your home from water damage.

A clean and unobstructed rain gutter or eavestrough system is key for allowing rainwater to properly drain off the roof of a home.

A clean gutter channels the rainwater towards the downspouts and then to a drain. This prevents water from soaking into the roof and directs it away from the siding and foundation.

Throughout the year, leaves and other debris fall into your gutters. If left untouched, this can create clogs. Over time, rainwater that can’t drain properly, causes a lot of problems.

On average, Vancouver, BC gets about 165 days of rain per year which amounts to more than 1,200 mm (or 50 inches).

Cleaning your gutters regularly is an important part of protecting the life of your home.

If your gutters aren’t cleaned out on a regular basis, you could find a number of surprises that might be creating clogs:

  • Leaves and broken branches
  • Bird nests
  • Dust, silt and mud
  • Plants and moss
  • Rodents, birds and other critters
  • Plastic bags, wrappers and other trash that arrives on windy days
  • Kids toys
  • Balls and other sports equipment

All of these can cause blockages, which will restrict how rainwater drains.

Some major issues that might occur from failing to fix a clogged gutter:

  • Leaky roof
  • Roof rot
  • Damaged soffit and fascia
  • Moisture seeping into the walls
  • Weakened structural integrity of walls and siding
  • Water leaking into the basement
  • Mold growth
  • Other general water damage
  • Damaged foundation

Investing in regular scheduled home maintenance can save you money in the long-run because fixing these issues after they’ve become a problem is extremely expensive.

Just like your vehicle needs regular maintenance, so does your home.

Your gutters or downpipes might not be working properly if you see:

  • Waterfalls or areas overflowing with rain water
  • Gutters are sagging
  • Pools of water near the foundation of the home
  • You see or hear critters or rodents crawling in your gutters
  • An unusual amount of birds flocking or nesting
